At the Exhibition Oval to-day there was a big crowd to witness the. threedistanco match between C. E. Holway (America), the ex-champion, and Jack Donaldson (Australia), the champion, for the sprint supremacy of tho world. The articles of agreement, called for the men b run over three distances, 75yds., 100 yds., and 220 yds., whatever'happened. Donaldson easily defeated Holway, winning the first event by fivo feet in 7 3-5 sec.; tho second by three yards in 9 4-5 sec. (a record for a grass track); and the third by sis yards in 221-Ssec. PAPUAN EXPEDITION. EETUEN OP SEARCH PARTIES. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyriznt (Eec. May 14, 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne, May 13. Official advices have been received stat-. ing that the two parties dispatched in search of Mr. Staniforth Smith's Papuan expedition have returned. Two native carriers, attached to one of the parties, died on the journey.
