L. Longmore, solicitor, of Hertford. The net value of the whole cslate, including real estate in County Galway, has bc«n sworn at .£242,651. Mr. Dcring was married at Brighton about 1855 in the name of Dale. His wife lived there, and Mr. Dering paid her periodical -visits until her death in 1894. His daughter never visited I.pckleys, Mr. Bering's house at Welwyn, until after his death, when sho learned that she had inherited it. In his will Mr. Bering left ,£IOOO and his Greek bonds to Mrs. Fanny M'Gill; •£SOO to Mr. C. E. Longmore; .€3OO to his bailiff. Mr. William Ashby; his estates in Galway nnd Kent to the children of his late aunts, Mrs. Charlotte'E. Hashwood, and Mrs. Harriet M. Mnjendie; and the residue, including the Locklcys estate, with tho pictures und statuary and the rest of his property in Hertfordshire, to his daughter. ' Mrs. Neall has decided to present to the British Museum tho antiquities found some years ago when Mr. Bering was making n new road at Welwyn. These artiolcs, supposed to be Ccltio remains, consist of five fine earthenware amphorae , , some silver cups, iron implements, and a piece of a jawbone. Bricks made of coal-dust, combined with treacle and resin, are used for paving in .Russia.
