CORONATION DAY.
THE OFFICIAL CELEBRATIONS. Coronation Day will be celebrated in 'Wellington on virtually the same lines (as far as the Government's arrangements are concerned) as when his kite. Majesty King Edward VII was crowned. This hns already been i.nuounced by the Acting-Prime .Minister, who also stated to a representative of Tub Dominion- yesterday that ho has yet to confer with the Mayor as to the part the city will phiy in the general scheme. The proceedings will commence in tho morning with a service at St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral, at which his Excellency the. Governor will be present, and members of the Ministry: and afterwards there, will bo a procession to Newtown Park, where a military display will bo held. Brief speeches by his Excellency, the Actin-g-Prime Minister, and theMayor of Wellington will be made, and this portion of the celebrations will conclude about ] .30 p.m. ( The sehemo of illuminations for the Government.Buildings is being prepared by the Public- Works Department. There will also bo displays on the tower of Parliament House, at Government House, and on the General Post Offices at Auckland, Christrhureh, and Dunedin. The public buildings will bo made brilliant with displays at the expense of the Government. In other respects the local bodies will arrange and carry out their own schemes.
