N.Z.F.A. ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the New Zealand Football Association, which will hold its meeting on Monday, May 22, is as follows:— "There were 225 teams affiliated throughout the Dominion during the season, and it is confidently hoped that this number will bo increased during the present season. The continued advance made amongst boys', teams is very pleasing to your council, which hopes that all affiliated associations will continue to do their utmost to foster this branch of the game. In this respect, it might be mentioned that the Wellington Association sent boy representative teams to Otago and Marlborongh, and the Otago and Sonthlaiul boys' teams exchanged visits. The council should not bo satisfied until each affiliated association has a strong and well-conducted boys' division. The Poverty Bay, Manawatu, and AVaikato Associations were affiliated during tho season. Three. Brown Shield matches were played in "Wellington, the results being: Wellington 7 goals, AA'anganui nil; Wellington 3 goals, Otago 1 goal; Auckland 2 goals, Wellington nil. After Auckland winning the shield, the Canterbury Association's team journeyed to Auckland and defeated the holders, the scores being: Canterbury, 2 goals, Auckland, 1 goal. During the past season it was found necessary to revise the rules, and after preliminary work by a sub-committee, tho by-laws and tho rules for tho Brown Shield were brought thoroughly np to daio, and adopted at a special mooting. The new rules provide for one delegate onl(.* from each association forming the council, instead of two as formerly. Mr. A. E. Gibbs has been-of groat assistanco in furthering the negotiations. •The Australian associations all agreed to tho suggestion that Mr. Gibbs should be the. Australasian representative. Regarding the matter of. a visit from a foreign team, nearly all of tho affiliated associations have agreed to and arranged for a guarantee towards a visit of a New South Wales team. Beyond this, little, has been done in the matter, as tho council felt it was better to have tlio financial side of the question definitely settled before opening up final negotiations for the tour.. Mr. Parker, president of the Canadian Football Association, who in past seasons was in communication with tiic association, has written for terms for a suggested visit of a team of English amateurs, and the secretary has now opened up negotiations with him. Under now management, tho New Zoa.lantl Referees' -Association has b?en much in evidence, and is now taking active stops towards tlio control and improvement of referees throughout tho Dominion. It is hoped that a standard method of examination can he adopted. -Mr. W. Munckton has to be congratulated upon his excellent services as chairman throughout a somewhat troublesome -ime. Messrs. Pettitt and Dudley, of Palmerston North, have offered the association a cup for competition amongst Now Zealand club teams upon cup tio lines.
