DECLARATION OF LONDON.
AN AUSTRALIAN PROTEST. Br Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright (Rec. May 12, 1 a.m.) Adelaide, May 11. The Chambers of Commerce Conference discussed the Declaration of London to-day, and adopted the following resolution:—"That, in view of tho adverse opinion expressed by many competent authorities, and the regret and disappointment felt by this conference in respect of the provisions under which food supplies borne in neutral vessels to any port of Great Britain would bo exposed to capture or destruction, together with the absence of any provision prohibiting the conversion of merchantmen into com-merce-destroyers on the high seas, the conference earnestly hopes that British statesmanship and diplomacy may yet succeed in obtaining such modifications of the terms of the Declaration as to render it more generally acceptable, and bring it more into conformity with the principles which have hitherto governed the practice of Great Britain in war-time."
