Greytown Wedding. Miss Sarah York, third daughter of Mr. George York, of Papawai, was married Vestfrday at St. Luke's Church Greytown, to Mr. Ernest Edwards ot Hamilton. Miss Ruby Jury was; bridesmaid, and tho best man was Mr. VI., iork. Tho Rev. Mr. Page was the officiating, minister. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards left by motor-car -for Hamilton, where they are to reside. Kia Ora Centre Girls' Realm Guild. On Wednesday evening' last, a-number of members of tho Kia, Ora Centre of the Girls' Realm Guild went up to the Convalescent Home, where they gave an enjoyable concert. Pianoforte solos were contributed by the Misses Young, E. Gaynor, Lewis and Kean, songs by the Misses M. Young and M'Donald (2), and recitations by the Mines Bull; Croll and Bastings. Ono of the patients, on behalf of the matron, thanked the young ladies in a happy little speech for the pleasant evening's entertainment that had been at r forded them. Golf Competition. On Wednesday afternoon, at the Hutt Golf Links, a foursome competition for trophies presented by the captain, Mrs. Coverdale, was hold by the lady members of tho club, and resulted in a win for Misses Callender and Parsons, four down, Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Murphy being run-ners-np. A Plunket Nurse in Ireland. Since her return to Ireland, Lady Plunket has not lost her interest m the work of caring for tho health of infants and children. She has recently succeeded in establishing a nurse,'similar to our Plunket nnrsos, in the town of Bray,' County Wicklow. This qualified nurse took a special course at tho Vincent Square Infant Hospital, in London, and she has now begun work among the mothers and babies of Broy. This is the first time that anything of this kind has been done in Ireland, and her scheme of work is being watched with considerable, interest.

' Mr. and' Mrs. Percy Woods'have re- ' turned from a visit, to' England. Misses E. and M. Kingsland, of Invercargill, who have been staying l with Mrs. Palmer (Featherston), for the past three weeks, returned homo yesterday, Miss Daisy Monckton arrived home at Featherston from Gisborno on Monday. Miss Maud Perman, member of the well-known theatrical family, died at her residence, 535 Victoria Parade,. East Melbourne, on Monday of last week from consumption. She was married four years ago to Mr.. Charles Moody, comedian, and i left a littlo girl, 21 years of age. Miss Perman was .well known in NewZealand.

Miss Winnie Brailsford, who went to San Francisco in December last to join her brother, Mr. J. A. Brailsford, formerly a Wellington journalist, is returning to New Zealand, Mr. .BrailsI'ord having decided to pay a prolonged visit to China for tho purpose of studying tho language.

A well-attended general meeting of the committee that had arrangements in hand for the garden party held as a farewell to Sir Joseph and Lady Ward and Dr. and Mrs. Findlay, was held last-evening. The committee decided to remain in office in order to carry out any function that mi','bt lie held On the Prime Minister's return to New Zealand. Mr. Dykes (secretary of the Banquet Committee) and Mr. Gallichan (secretary of the Garden Party Committee) were thanked for their services.

On April 22, at Ballarat (Victoria), the death took place of Mrs. Antlers Andersen, the widow of the late Mr. Anders Andersen, formerly of Woodside, and later of Feathcrston. Tho deceased lady had roanv friends in the Wairarapa, who will "greatly regret the news of her death.
