A EUGENICS SOCIETY.

MEETING IN WELLINGTON TO-MOIiKOW. At the instance of Dr. J. Jr. Mason and Professor Kirk, a meeting is to be held itWellington to-morrow evening . for. the purpose of forihing a branch of tho Eugenics Society. Eugenics—or "good breeding"—is Sir Francis Galton's name for tho science of race culture, which assumes that "there is no wealth but life," and that the first duty of nil Governments and good citizens, is "the production and recognition of human worth." The British Eugenics Education Society has for its objects:— 1. Persistently to set forth the national importance of eugenics, in order to modify public opinion and •create a sense of responsibility in rt'spc-ui of bringing all matters' pertaining to human parenthood under tho domination of eugenic ideals. 2. To spread a knowledge of the laws of heredity, so far as they lire surely known, and so far as that knowledge might effect improvement of race. 3. To further eugenic teaching at homo, in the schools, and elsewhere.

Br. Mason and Professor lvirk invite all persons interested in the movement to attend to-morrow's meeting, which is to be held in No. 1 Committee-room, at the.Town Hall, at 8 p.m.
