JERUSALEM TREASURE HUNT.
THE ALLEGED PROFANATION. By Telegraph—Press AssociatioD-CopyriEfct Constantinople, May 8. In connection with the reported excitement in Jerusalem because of the work being done there by the expedition led by Captain tho Hon. Montagu Parker, brother of the Earl of Morloy, who has spent ,£60,000 during the past two years searching for treasure, in the passages cut in the rock iu the vicinity of the Pool of Siloam, at the south-cast end of the town, "by the King's (Solomon's) garden," advices received here from Jerusalem suggest that the story of the theft from the Mosque of Omar of valuable relics is unfounded. It is attributed to a political desire to discredit the Governor of Jerusalem and the Sheikh of Khalil, who was acting as custodian of the mosque.
