ABATTOIR RETURNS.

» RESULT OF APRIL OPERATIONS. The slock slaughtered at tho Municipal Abattoir during April was 3972 sheep, 537 lie:id of cattle, 505 lambs, 9 calves, and 3 pigs. In all, 13 sheep, 1 lamb, and 19 head of cattle were condemned. Tho fees received on stock slaughtered wero £131 19s. 10d., a decrease of Xl 5 Os. lOd. as against tho previous month. The fees received from meat export slaughter-houses on meat slaughtered within tho abattoir were .£145 Ills., a decrease of .18 lis. 7d. on tho provious mouth. The sale of ofl'al and runners yielded .£lls 10s. 9d., which is .£ls 10s. iid. less than for the month of March. The total amount of t'ros for the month was ,£391) 12s. 7d., a. falling off of „C 39 2s. 9d., as again?' the previous month. Tho decrease in slaughtering for tlio month was 47 cattle, 2lil sheep, 451 lambs, ni»l one pig, and thero was an increase of 23 calvcs. With the exception of 13 head of cattle slaughtered for boning purposes the stock was all of prime quality. The increases of stock slaughtered, for April, 1911, as against April, 1910, was 249 cattle, 1744 sheep, 49 calves, and 3 pigs. There was a decrease of 10 lambs. Fees on slock slaughtered increased by .£56 9s. Gd., as against tho April, 1910, figures.
