COURT OF APPEAL.
PROTRACTED NATIVE LAND DISPUTE. . HOROWIIEKUA BLOCK. The Court of Appeal—Mr. Justice 'Williams, Mr. Justice Chapman, and Mr. Justice Sim on thp bench—was again occupied yesterday with the ease relating to the Ilorowhcnua No. 11. a block-of Native land near Levin which' has been the subject of legislation and Court proceedings from time to lime for many years past. Jiirihana Kingi J'uihi anil other Natives moved to set aside a judgment whereby Sir Robert Stout (Chief Justice) in August last 'confirmed an order made by the Native Appellate Court in 1898. ; Mr. ]'. E. Baldwin represented the appellants ; Mr. J. \V. Salmond. SolicitorGeneral, -appeared for the Chief Judge of the Native Appellate Court; and certain Natives interested in upholding the order of the Appellate Court were represented by Mr. A. A. S. Menteath and Mr. M. Luckie. Argument for the appellants had been completed when the Court took the luncheon adjournment. On resuming at 2 p.m., the Court intimated that, upon resuming this morning, they woiild state whether they wished to hear argument against the appeal*
