At a meeting o£ tlie executive of (he, Scottish Society of Wellington, held on,-, Friday night, the following -resolution was unanimously passed: That Una. executive, reprcsontinir the Scottish, Society of Wellington, deplore the proposal to banish the national dress of Scotland from tho Highland compnniea of tho Dominion. It is a dress endeared to nil true Scots, and has,been worn with honour in many a hnrd-iougkt field. This executivo considers its abolition as; a deterrent lo patriotism, and trusts that* better counsels may yet prevail."
