FATE OF LANCASTER PARK.
« CURRENT PROPOSAL. (By Telcerapa.-PreEs Association.) Christchurch, May 2. At a meeting of the delegates of tho Canteibury Rugby Union, it was decided to enter into a partnership with tho Board of Control o;" Lancaster Park to retain the park as sports grounds. Tho conditions proposed by tho union are that (ho board and union should each raise ,£IOOO, tho union finding no personal guarantors. ,£:'0fl0 is to be spent on improvements to the ground, and the term rf mortgage for tha ,£IO,OOO is to be at least ten years, and tho rate of interest ■lj per cent. A sub-committee was set up to wait on the Board of Control, and was given full power to act.
