(By Telccraph—Special Correspondent.! Palmarston, April .20. A meeting of the members of. the Palmcrston Trotting Club was held tonight, Mr. J. Parson being voted to the chair. The secretary, Mr. G. Wliito, reported that a license* to hold a trotting meeting had been received from tho New Zealand Trotting Association. The chairman said it was now for the club to decide whether, seeing that they could have neither bookmakers nor the totalisator, they could finance a meeting. After discussion, a motion was carried to allot £200 for the programme,' divided as follows: —Maiden Handicap, £15, ono mile and a half; Stewards' Handicap, £25, one mile and a . distance; Manawatu Trot, £6'o, two miles-, Bracelet, £20, two miles; Electric.Trot, £25, one mile; Palmerston -Handicap Trot, £35, two miles; Awapuni Handicap Trot, £20, ono mile anil a half.
