."RECEIVING ATTENTION."- ■ Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P. for Wellington South, who is taking a lively interest in the recent occurrences in the Cook Islands, has at length received a reply to his communications from the Acting-Prime Minister (Hon. James Carroll). The Minister writes: "April 26, 1911. "Sir,—l have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letters of the 7th and 18th instant, making certain charges against the administration of the Cook Islands. I much regret that owing to ray absence from Wellington a formal acknowledgment of your letter of the 7th instant was not sent to you at the time. Your letter of tho 18ttf| only reached mo yesterday. I have now to inform you that tho patters referred to in your communications are receiving the attention of the Government."-
