Mr. J. Duthie will bo a passenger for Sau Francisco by the Maitai, leaving Auckland on May 6. Mr. Duthie has in view the idea of spending a couple of months in Canada, and it is possible, if circumstances permit, he may run across to England to witness the great Naval Review, which will be one of the outstanding features of the Coronation celebrations. Mr. Duthie expects to be back in the Dominion about September next. His Excellency the Governor is flue to arrive lure from Auckland by the Main Trunk express this afternoon. He is on his way to Marlborough, where he is to take part in a shooting expedition. To-day tho Ministers in Wellington wi'l be the lion. J. Carroll, the Hon. J. A. Millar, the Hon. G. Fowlds, the Hon. It. M'Kcnzie, and the Hon. T. Mackenzie. The Hon. D. Buddo is in Christchurch, and the Hon. A. T. Kgata on the East Goast. The Hon. J. A. Millar will leave Wellington for Dunedin on Monday, remain-, ing in Christehurch to transact .business over TiißSday, and will arrive at his destination on Wednesday. He wilF'be'e'n'tertained by his constituents in Duiiedin at a social. Mr. Justice Cooper and Mrs. Cooper, who ar? about to leave on a visit to England, will proceed to Lyttelton to-night. The Misses Cooper (3) left for the eouth last evening. Mr. Henry Burling, Waikanae's centenarian, celebrates his 110 th birthday on -Monday. Bishop Julius was a passenger for Lyttelton by the llararoa last night. Mr. W. E. Long, of Onehunga, N'ew Zealand, has received a certificate from tho Hawkeshury Agricultural College, New South Wales, in the agricultural, tlniry, and orchard section.—Press Association. Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, Registrar of the Supreme Court, is leaving this afternoon on a visit to Palmerston and Pahiahia. A Greymouth Press Association telegram states that a handsome presentation was made to Mr. Tom Pollard on Wednesday night in recognition of his 53rd' birthday. Praise was accorded his generosity in assisting many good causes by giving benefit performances. Mr. A. H. Wheatley was presented by his fellow-employees of the D.I.C. with ft marble clock on tho occasion of his marriage. Tho bridegroom is the second son of Mr. A. Wheatley, of Cart'erton. Mr. Scott Cqlville, of Auckland, is in Wellington assisting Mr. J. Dykes (secretary) and the committee in connection with the New Zealand Competitions, which are to be held in Wellington early in October. Mr. Leo. D. Chateau is in town, making the necessary arrangements for (he advent of Mr. Hamilton's "Why Men Love Women" Company. Mr. Leslie Marshall Wilson has been appointed a poultry-station overseer.
