SUICIDE AT WAKAPUAKA. Word was received in Nelson on Saturday morning that Mr. J. P. Livingstone, a well-known settlor of Wakapuaka, had been found shot about a chain away from his houss. It appears that after breakfast Mr. .Livingstone went out to groom his horse, and a few minutes afterwards his eldest daughter went out and found her father lying on the ground, with a shot through the temple, and a revolver in his right hand. Deceased, who leaves a widow and three children, was 46 years of age, and had lived at Wakapuaka for some years past. lie recently purchased a farm at Lower Hutt, and was packing up on Friday last in preparation for departure. He had not enjoyed good health, but there had been nothing in his manner to indicate that he contemplated taking his life. SUDDEN DEATH AT A PARTT. (Sy Telosraph-Prcss Association.! The post mortem revealed that death was duo to a heavy dinner acting on a heart probably weakened by excessive cigarette smoking. A verdict was returned accordingly. KILLED BY A FALL OF EARTH. Auckland, April 20. A mau named Henry Allott was killed by a fall of earth at Waingaro to-day. HEART FAILURE. Christcliurch, April 20. At the inquest on John Kruera Tarawa! n, aged 74, a Naln'e, belonging to Tomuka, who was amending a Native meeting at Rnpaki, and who died suddenly on Wednesday, a verdict of death from heart failure was returned.
