THE HARBOUR BOARD.
Messrs. C. W. Jones and R. C. Renner have been returned unopposed to represent payers of dues on ships upon ttie Harbour Board. For the siuglo seat allotted to payers of dues, other than dues on ships, three candidates have been nominated: Messrs. J. G. Harkness, A. D. Kennedy, and 11. L. Nathan. Mr. H. C. Tewsley has been appointed as Government nominee upon the Harbour Board. , Candidates nominated to represent the city (four seats) on the board are:— James Trevor (A. H. Harbottle and J. H. Flockton). George Grey Farland (W. M. Robinson and F. G. Bolton, labourer). Paul Coffey (J. P. Luke, F. W. Haybittle, and Edward Taylor). Alfred Humphreys Hindmarsh (W. H. Hampton, F. Solomons, H. Tucker). William Thomas Young (P. J. O'R-egan, P. L. Mnir). John Edward Fitzgerald (S. Kirkcaldie, C. A. Donaldson, A. Bannister). William T. Hildreth (John P. Luke, W. J. Thompson, John Smith). Robert Fletcher (Herbert J. Williams, Richard Tingey, William Wiggins). A combined suburban district and two country districts each return two members to tho'board. The suburban district includes tho Boroughs of Onslow, Karori, Miramar, Petone, Lower Hutt, and Eastbourne, the town districts of Johnsonville and Upper Hutt, and the counties of Hutt and Makara. The Borough of Petone is the principal authority. One ofthc country districts comprehends tho counties'of Wairarapa South, Masterton, Pahiatua, Akitio, Eketahuna, Mauriceville, Castlepoint, and Featherston; tho town districts of Featherston and Martinboroußh, and tho Boroughs of Greytown, Carterton, Masterton, Ekctahun'a, and Pahiatua. The principal authority is tho Borough of Masterton. The second country district includes the counties' of Manawatu. Oroua,- Horowhenna. Pohangina, Kairanga, and Kiwitea, and the. Boroughs of Palmerston North, Ffiilding, Foxton, and Levin. Palmerston North is the principal authority. • ■ .
Cantain D. Watson (D. A. Bannister, C. C'Crumn), J. W. M'Ewan (Rev. A. Thompson, E. A. Dillon, and others), and Pierce C. Frecth (John Wnkehamj J. Brodie, and others) have been nominated to represent the combined suburban district on .the board. ■
