Riclinr.l Dri.-cnll, wliD, the police staled, had "taken chai'Ks" of the I'orrc-ters' Arms Hotel on Easter Monday night, pleaded guilty to the following ch-irgcs ynsteriluy morning:—(l) Uriiiikpnness; (2) daninging glasses ami oilier articles, valued nt 7s. 0(1., the properly of .Sarah liird; (3) refusing to quit. For the first ollonc? he was convicted and discharged. For the Jccoml offence, he was lined JOs., and ordered to make good the. damage, while, fir the third, lie was fined 20s. The alrsrnnliyc on the. second charge was H days' imprisonment, and, on the third, seven days' imprisonment. WII.I'TI, DAMAGE. George Conner pleaded not guilty to n charge of damaging a door and window, valued at 205., the property of Ellen I.augooil, and also declared that the witnesses ■for the prosecution were "'swearinj his life away." Accused's defence, however, made no impression, and he was fined 10s., ordered to pay 20s. for the damage (lone, and Ss. for witnesses' expenses, in default to undergo 11 days' imprisonment. THREATENING BEHAVIOUR. Harry Tamm and Bartholomew Mahouey were chargccl jointly with using threatening behaviour in the Basin lfcEerve, thereby creating a breach of the peace. Tamm, who did not appear, was fined Cfs., with the option of It days' imprisonment. JHahoncy was fined 205., in default seven days' imprisonment. For using threatening behaiiour in Brougham Street, William Spindle, alias Spimllor, was fined 435., with the option of seven days' imprisonment. For making use of improper language, the same accused was fined «£3, and ordered to pay witnesses' expenses Bs., in default 21 days' imprisonment. A young woman, named Rose Fraser, pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness, but not guilty to a charge of being an idle aud disorderly person, with insufficient lawful means of support. The evidence was, however, against her on this latter charge, and she was convicted, and ordered to go to the Salvation Army Home for a period of six months. On the charge of drunkenness she was convicted and discharged. Patrick Daly, against whom a prohibition, order was issued on Monday, was before the magistrate again yesterday, charged with drunkenness and 'with procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order., On the first charge he was declared an habitual' drunkard, and sentenced to a month's imprisonment. On the second, he was convicted and discharged. \yilliam Kennedy, for drunkenness, was fined 205., with 'the alternative of seven days' imprisonment. A first-offending inebriate, who did not appear, was ordered to forfeit his bail of 10s., or nndsrgo 21 hours' imprisonment.' Two other first offenders were convicted and discharged.
