SUPERANNUATION BOARD.
' —fr —: — The Public Service Superannuation Board met yesterday. A report was received from, the Commissioner of Poiice relative to certain members of the force who had paid for broken service under the amending Act of 1909. Some alterations that are necessary in the regulations were brought before uvo board. These related to rates of contributions for officers on leave on reduced pay or without pay; also as to granting the returning officer extension of time to get out ballot papers after receipt of nominations, and other matters requiring amendment, and a committee was appointed to dra,ft such amendments for the consideration of the board at its iwxt meeting.' The secretary reported to the board that on March 31. 1011, tho amount to credit of tu C fund was .£293,435, an increase of on Hie previous quarter (December 31, 1910). The Claims Committee brought up its report on the claims of those applying toha retired as medically unfit, and on ordinary allowancss, which were nil approved by the board.
The totals of the retiring allowances and annuities to widows and children on the schedules arc as follow:—Ordinary, ■{3, involving an annual liability of .615CG 175.; medically unfit, 8, involving an annual liability of J2G97 Gs.; widows and children, 6 widows, 1 child, involving an annual liability of J!l!21. Total, .£5385 3s.
