DISESTABLISHMENT.
WALES'S OPPORTUNITY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copj'rieht London, April 16. Speaking at Colwyn Bay (Carnarvonshire), Mr. William'4Fonep,.jLiberal r for Arfon (Carnarvonshire)", saitf- after' .the Lords' veto and Home Kule questions had been dealt with, the Welsh disestablishment question would cOmd before tho House of Commons. This would be AVales's real opportunity, and there must be no quarrel between Wales and, Ireland. He had Mr. John Redmond's promise of the Irish party's support in regard to disestablishment. Mr. Jones went on to say that the coming invalidity and unemployment insurance scheme of the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr. Lloyd-George) would bo a far-reaching effort to combat many evils of industrial life.
Welsh Liberul members recently received at the House of. Commons a Welsh deputation which insisted upon Welsh Disestablishment coming after the Veto Bill. The members then went to Mr. Asquitli, with tho result that the following official announcement was made
"The Prime Minister, informed the deputation that it was the intention of the Government, on the assumption that the Parliament (Veto) Bill is carried into law this year, to give to the Welsh Disestablishment Bill such a position next year as will enable it to over-ride the Veto of the Lords during the present Parliament. The Welsh members who were prosent on the deputation expressed themselves as highly pleased with the Prime Minister's announcement."
