HUTT AND PETONE NEWS.
(From Our Special Correspondent.) A "social" was hold at the Wesley Church, Lower Hutt, last evening, to welcome the neiv minister, the Rev. B. H. Ginger, recently of Woodville. There was a largo attendance. Amongst those present were the Roy. Mr. Bawden Harris, of Alicetown, and the Rev. Mr. Garlick. The chairman, Mr. Huthnance, in a short speec'n, welcomed Mr. Ginger to the circuit, and the now minister, in responding, expressed the hope that mem-
bers and minister, and all connected with the church, would work harmoniously and heartily together. Tho following were tho contributors to the evening's programme:—Mrs. Lowry Mrs. Eddie, Mr. Ward, Mr. Orr, Mr. Rishworth, and Misses Boutell and C'orricl:.
The Hutt Pork Committee havo accepted the tender of Messrs. Andrews ami Gosso for tlio laying out of two tennis courts at the park. This is in accordance with a resolution passed at one of their meetings, when it was decided to lay out courts for public use.
