GRUB IN RANGITIKEI POTATOES
HIGH .WINTER PRICE PREDICTED. The potato grub is very serious in the Marton district (writes our travelling correspondent). Very few, if any! growers .have escaped. Now that, digging thr main, crop is well on the way tlib serious damage caused by Ihe grub is seen. As a. , rule, it is only those potatoes' .which' have not been covered which are .the worst. In going over the potato paddocks towards dusk, the moths rise iu. clouds,; so unless proper precautions arc taken it. will'be woi'£e next 3 _ ear. . . With- every prospect- of ■ meat being dearer'potatoes are certain'to'rule 1 high during the coming' winter.
