On Monday evening (he police received word of a evry bold robbery that had taken place in the city, and members of Iho detective force have since, been busily engaged in investigating the matter. It appears that a man named Jas. Richcrdson arrived from Feilding just after -J o'clock on Monday afternoon, and later (between 5 and 6 o'clock) he was waylaid in Sydney Street by someone who assaulted him and robbed him of £U. A young man was arrested in ono of the main thoroughfares Inst night on suspicion of beins; concerned in the affair. Detectives Cameron and Hammond' effected the. arrest. .
