( At a meeting of the vestry .of All Saints' Church, East St. Kildnj held rceenfcl.\, Aichdeacon Crossley announced liis lesignation as vicar,'in consequence of his appointment to ,thc Bishopric of Auckland, New Zealand. A resolution was adopted, expressing regret at tiie departure of Archdeacon Crossley, who. during his term of office extending over five years, Jiad proved himself an earnest, capable vicar, who in spiritual matters had been a loving, stimulating guide and -teacher, and in temporal affairs a loyal, helpful'friend. Miss Petite: "IF Mr. Makeshift should propose to-night, what shall I do?"
