The following are the returns for the Consolidated Group of Mines for March, I9ir~ Progress-Crushed" 4500 • tons; yielding 812oz. 6dwt. of bullion, valued at £3335 10s--2d.; cyanided 2640 tons, yielding 1540z. 6dwt. bullion, valued at £489 18s. Id.; estimated value of sulphurets' produced-£679 Wealth of Nations-Crushed. 1755 tons, yielding 5830z. 18dwt, valued at- £2411 18s 3d.; cyanided 1C93 tons, yielding 3130z.2dwt.. valued at £960 3s. 6d. ° ■ Elackwatcr—Crushed 3817 tons, yielding 16<IOoz. 17dwt., "valued- at £6688 175.-sd,- cyanided 2453 tons, yielding 2600z. 17dwt.', valued at £779 13s. 3d.; estimated value of concentrates produced £531.
MINING AT KEEFTON. The "Inangahua, Times" reports that the Blacltwater South Gold Mining Company' which is driving a <C 0 feet tunnel, struck a good reef 3 l'eet wide and gold-bearing at I<3 feet. It is' supposed that tills is a continuation of the Birthday Reef on which (ho lilackwatcr mine is based.' Special attention now being pa'd to the reopening of Kirtvan's Reward" diitnct. Several. parties have taken out a number of areas, and vigorous prospecting is being resorted to. The new find in tho Mcrnjigs district caused: a number of claims, to be applied for at last Warden's Court. Mining, m fact,-as far as nros-" pecung goes, is very , brisk just now!' .
