ENTERTAINMENTS.
HUGH WARD'S FAREWELL. There was .mother crowded house last night to witness the sixtli production of tlio brilliant farcical comedy, "Seven Days." To-night (Saturday) and Monday night will be tho last two performances of this piece. On Tuesday night ilr. Ward will make his first change of programme, when lie will stage "Tile Girl from Rector's," which was such a great success, when last scon in Wellington. For tlio last' two nights of the season (next Wednesday and Thursday) a grand double hill will be presented, when tlio "Scarecrow," a fantastic pantomime sketch, and that merriest of farce comedies, "A Bachelor's Honeymoon," will be the farewell attraction. The box. plan for to-night only will bo on view at Christeson's to-day after 1 p.m.
"THE BAD GIRL OF THE FAMILY."
"The Bad Girl of the Family" has been played for over 700 consecutive nights at the Aldwych Theatre, London, and recently concluded a most successful season at tlio Princess Theatre, Melbourne, and is now being played at His Majesty's Theatre, Auckland, to large audicnces. It is to bo staged for tlio first time-in Wellington at the Opera Houso 011 Saturday, April 15, by Mr. Georgo Marlow's Dramatic • Company. Mr. Marlow will spare no expense in his production of tlio play in this city. Ho has engaged performers of established popularity and capability, and great care has been devoted to the mounting of tlio piece. Tlio box plan opens at the Dresden on Tuesday at 9 a.m. A matinee will be given • 011 Easter Monday.
THEATRE ROYAL. The current programme at the Theatre Royal will be repeated for tho last time this evening. At last night's performance, the proceedings went with a swing, and the songs of Miss Mabel Fowler, soprano, and Miss Mabel Lynne, comedienne, took exceptionally. The usual change of programme will take place on Monday, when< several fresh faces will be seen among the performers.
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. His Majesty's Theatro is still keeping up the high reputation it has 'earned for its excellent picture displays. Pictorial representation of Mrs. Henry Wood's well-known drama, "East Lynne," is one of the most effective pictures in the present programme. Another interesting film is one entitled "Shooting Rapids in Japan." Tho programme will bo screened at a matinee this afternoon, and to-night as usual^.
KING'S THEATRE. The change of programme presented at the King's Theatro 011 Thursday evening has, judging by tho largo attendance last evening, met with the approval of patrons of this popular picture theatre. Perhaps the best film of the evening is one entitled "Shooting Rapids in Japan," which is a beautifully coloured film. There will bo the, usual prizo matinee this afternoon, and the programme will bo repeated tonight.-
FULLERS' SKATING'RINK,
Much interest has,been evinced as to the opening dato 'of ' Fullers' Skating Rink, and devotees •of the popular pastimo will he pleased to learn thatt Messrs. John Fuller and Sons have decided to open the rink (in Vivian Street) on Wednesday next, at'.2 p.nj. 1 Tho floor has. beeu.'put in, splen'did.ciiidition, and tlio building lias been artistically decorated and illuminated by hundreds of electric, .lights, which give the rink tho appearance of a fairyland. Tho appointments will amply' meet tho comfort of patrons, and tho management have also supplied a stock of ball-bearing skates for hire, similar to thoso which bccame so popular last season. An orchestra will bo in attendance, and will discourse tho latest popular music. A staff of instructors, attendants, and skate boys will also cater for tho wants of patrons. Tho session will bo from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.nii, and 2.30 to 0 p.m.,'banners, 6to 7 p.m.' The evening'ie^ioii'is from 7.30 to. 10 p.m.' Season tickets will be on .sale.
"THE WANDERERS." Mr. George Stephenson, tho wellknown New Zealand theatrical manager, has completed arrangements for a tour of the Dominion of his most recent English attraction—the Wanderers' Musical Comedy Costumo Company, with \rhom is associated the brilliant society entertainer, Miss Phyllis Hopwood Foldi. Tho Wellington season, which is limited to seven nights only, will be inaugurated at tho Town Hall on Saturday next, the loth instant.' This organisation of speciallyselccted singers, instrumentalists, dancers, humorists, 'and monologue entertainers, was engaged by Mr. Georgo Stephenson from tho principal English theatres and concert halls, and are all artists of high standing. Tho box plan will open at the Dresden at 9 a.m. on . Monday.
SUNDAY CONCERT. : To-morrow night tho Wellington Professional Orchestra, under the conductorship of Mr. Herbert Bloy, will give the second concert of the season at the Town Hall. An excellent programme has been prepared, included in which will bo Wagner's Overture, "ltienzi" (this will bo the first occasion on which this work has been produced in Wellington by an orchestra), Gounod's "Saltarello," introduction to third act of "Lohengrin" (Wagner), and Squire's "Yeomanry Patrol." Mr. Stan. N. Ilutton (baritone) will givo two items, "Nearer My God to Thee" (Carey) nud "Across the Bay" (Gleeson). Mr. Henry Moschini (clarionetist), a member of tho W.P.0., will play "Concertino" (Weber). A silver coin collection will be taken at tho door.
AMUSEMENT COMPANY. The Greater J. D. Williams Amusement Company lias now opened a branch at Wellington in Fowlds's Buildings, Manners Street. The. object of this company in establishing a branch in the Dominion is to enable showmen here to get the best international pictures, most of the leading makers in the world being represented. Jupp's Band will give a performance at Island Bay to-morrow afternoon.
