A COMPLAINT.

Sir,—Workmen aro asking why the 7.2 a.m. train from To Aro has been put back to 7 a.m. Are not the facilities at hand sufficient to run tlio train as ordinarily?" Now that'the line has been completed in its duplication the time has still been put further back. If so, why, such expenditure? We were in hope.s that there would have been a betterment in tho running of this train. Under the old system of a single lino the now 7 a.lll. train did not leavo To Aro till 7.7, which was a big consideration to tlioso who travelled by it. Now, sir, as that was so, it proves to me that we are not going forward, but backward. Line duplicated, no waiting at stations for trains to cross, shorter distance, time of starting earlier, train slower! Can yon answer the problem? It was an accepted belief that at tho completion of tho line the now 7 a.m. train would not leave To Aro at the earliest till about 7.10 or' 7.15, and it could be so adjustcdwithout in any way inconveniencing the running of other trains. For instance, if the train left Te Aro, say, at 7.10, 110 later, there is nothing to stop them arriving at Petone at 7.30, cutting the time down ten minutes instead of it being half an hour as they are doing at present, and so 011. Now, sir, what was our experience of the running of the train 011 the first day (Monday)? From the moment she left To Aro till she arrived at, l'ctone was a crawl. Now J hope that the powers who be will give this matter their deep consideration.—l am, etc., WOE KM AN.
