This week's Gazette announces the fol. lowing honorary colonelcies in the East Coast Mounted Regiment nml the Southland Infantry Battalion respectively:— Defence Office, Wellington, March 25, mil. His Excellency the Governor line been pleased to approve of the follow inn appointments:— ' Ninth (Wellington East Coast) Mounted Hides.—Tho Right Honourable John Poynder Dick'oil-Poynder, Huron Islington, K.C.M.G., D.S.'O., to be Honorary Colonel, with effect frein March 1, l'Jll. Eighlh Regiment (Southland Rifles). —The Right Honourable Sir Joseph Ward, P.C., K.C.M.G., from Honorary Captain, Winton Rifles and' Bluff ■ Guards, to be Honorary Colonel, with cflect from March 1, 1911.
