AN APPEAL TO MOTHERS.
Kjr,—Without entering into the strifes and divisions that'have too long hindered the full devehpmeut of our national character, 1 cannot but feel that the; great majority of the mothers of- New Zealand would welcome for I heir children the boon of daily religious instruction in the schools. T cannot bcliovo that this expanding country of ours, with its great possibilities, will' consent much longer to stand outside the movement; that is going on in (his all-important question in other parts of Australasia. It is difli-c"-m •, "'estimate the influence that; will infallibly bo. felt if only the women of New Zealand will make an effort and rouse, themselves to the need of their country. By collecting information ov thoughtful discussion, above all by earnest prayer, such-a force will bo felt that the result can only be for good. May 1 make this an appeal to evenwoman, with children or without, to lose no time in studying the subject, to sec for herself what has already been done reunited effort, and make our need for help and guidance one of her daily petitions. —1 am, etc., AX INTERESTED MOTHER.
