Richard Sleath, ah ex-member of tho legislative Assembly, has been awarded .£IOO damages for libel against tho "Sydney Morning Herald." Tho libel consisted of tho publication, in a report of a public meeting, of a certain statement attributed to the plaintiff, but which he denied having made.
