LODGE MEETINGS.
The Pioneer Lodge, Jso. 11, 1.0. G.T., held its weekly meeting on Monday evening in the Rechabile Chambers, Manners Street, Bro. H. J. Millan, C.T., presiding over a good attendance of members ami visitors. One candidate was proposed and one initiated. Hro. Taylor, of Birmingham, was officially received, and afterwards addressed the meeting. Greetings were received from Palmerston, and also from H.M.S. Cambrian, and reciprocated. A "song-and-book party" proved an entertaining harmony item, resulting in Bro. J. M. Donn winning the song competition with an interpretation of "I'm Afraid to go Home in the Dark," mid Sis. Trcthaway the book competition, with a drawing of "Vice Versa." Suitable prizes were presented in each case by Bro. and Sis. Millan. A hearty vote of thanks to Bro. and Sis. Millan and visitors was carried by acclamation. The Independent Order of Reehabites and 1.0. G.T. will take sides in a. mock Parliamentary election at next meeting. The monthly meeting of the Wellington District Lodge, No. 5. 1.0. G.T., was held in (he Kcchabite Hall, Manners Street, on Tuesday night, Bro. G. Price, D.C.T., presiding. There was a fair attendance of members and delegates. The degree was conferred on one candidate. Reports of the various officers _ (which showed (he sub-lodges to be doing good work) were received and adopted. An invitation from the Independent Order of Reehabites to attend a reception, to be given to their High Chief Ruler in tho Town Hall was accepted. Court Sir George Grey, A .0.1'., held its quarterly meeting on Tuesday night, Bro. Molyneux, C.R., presiding over a largo attendance. After the usual business was over, Bro. Key, on behalf of the court, extended best wishes to Bro. Stacey, who is leaving on a trip to England. The C.R.. notified members that a social committee had been set up. to arrange for the winter meetings. The court thanked Bro. Mncller for presenting it with a set of "Bobs," and also Bros. Molyneux ami Harlcn for another set, the chief ranger expressing a wish that other members would follow suit, as two move sets would bo very much appreciated.
