SENIOR CADETS AND BOY SCOUTS. A District Order by Colonel E. W. C. Chaylor (Officer Commanding the Wellington District) states that as boy scout units have beer, recognised as an integral part of the senior cadet organisation, I hey will be permitted to wear their own uniform, and will be entitled to have it provided for them by the State, as will be done for the Territorial Forces as from April 1 next. Senior cadets will be clothed in a simple cheap form of uniform somewhat approximating to that of the boy scouts, tho same to be provided by the Clothing Department, and not out of tho capitation; while boy scouts will be provided with a Baden-Powell hat, shirt with two patch pockets, and khaki shorts, the remainder of their equipment—viz., stockings, belts, scarfs, and haversacks— to be found by the bay himself. Any senior cadet organisations now in existence who have a special uniform and want to keep it will bo allowed to do so at their own expense, receiving the equivalent of the cost of the ordinary senior cadet uniform. The existing boy scouts will keep the clothing thev now have, and tenders will be called for'future supplies. .Defence Rifle Clubs are notified that a limited number of "M.E." rifles may still be purchased at the usual price, viz., 13s. }£f 3s -) As soon as the new supply of M.L.JO." and "M.E." rifles is received from the Imperial authorities, Defence Rifle Clubs will bo dulv notified in District Orders, and will then be able to purchase whatever number of "M.L.E." The establishment of officers for regiments and battalions under the new defence scheme will be:—One honorary colonel, one lieutenant-colonel, four majors, five captains, 15 lieutenants, one adjutant, and one quarter-master to a regiment; and one honorary colonel, one lieutenant-colonel, three majors, seven captains, 16 lieutenants, one adjutant, and one quarter-master to a battalion. The following non-commissioned officers and men of the Territorial Force have qualified for proficiency certificates of rank:— Victoria College 0.T.C.-J. M'D. Richrnoad, C. 11. E. Straek, F. West, T. L. Ward, V. J. B. Hall, E. E. C. Mackav, Iv. S. Caldwell, T. N. Holmden, and A. R. W. Tate (for sergeant). Alexandra Mounted Rifles—A. E. Garner, H. Nash (for sergeant). R. Bunting (for corporal). Stratford Mounted Rifles—R. Brown ' C. K. Robinson, A. A. Reid, S. M. Jones, N. R. Sanson (for sergeant). W. K Foley, A. J Finuerty, C. F. Crawshaw (for corporal). Opunake Mounted Rifles.—R.
