THE ASSOCIATION GAME.
THE WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. The first meeting at'. the newly-elected Management Committee of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening, Mr. B.L. Salmon presiding. A letter was 'received from' Mr. 13. L. Salmon, in which the writer explained that Hie statement made at the annual meeting of the W.F.A., to the effect that the boys at Porihui had gone over to tho Rugby game was incorrect. He further stated that Mr. Windley had. informed him that there were no boys available to form a fourth division team .at Porirua. The sixth, division team will again play this year.' Mr. 11. N.M'Lepd wrote, stating that grounds at Miramar were available, to tlio W.F.A. under the same conditions as last year.--Roeeived. " The Petone.Club advised thatthcy had been successful in obtaining Maidment's ground, at Petone, for the coming season. Negotiations, were proceeding with tho Borough Council for the. purpose of obtaining another ground for piny— Received. Tho Berhamporc Baptist Club wrote, stating that their colours would be black and white hoops. It was also stated that the club contemplated putting a second and third division team in the competition this year.—Received. A communication was received from tile Murist School Club, stating that they would bo entering four boys' teams for the '.boys' competition this • season.—Received. Tho Swifts' Club wrote, asking for permission to travel to Havelock and Blenheim .at Easter.—G ranted. It was decided that the various competitions should commence on April 22; also that all entries must be in thc_ hands of the secretary on or before AYednesday, April 12. , Messrs. H. Godber, R. Walls, and J. B. Paton were appointed a senior selection committee for the season. Several applications were received from various clubs asking for grounds for practice purposes on Saturday next. These wero left in the hands of the secretary to deal with. • , Mr. R. Walls moved that a request be made to referees to forward to the Management Committee the names of players taking part in any, gride whom they considered worthy of representative honours. —Carried, .
