THE NATIONAL LEAGUE.
MEMBERSHIP OF 1000. The meeting of the National League held in Messrs. W. and G. Turnbull's rooms last evening was well attended. Mr. H. T. Rawson presided. \ Oil tho motion of Mr. W. H. TurnbuU, seconded by Dr* laai'd. it was decided that the executive consist of U gentlemen and not 31), as originally intended. This comprises the full number nominated. In speaking to tho motion, Mr. TurnbuU said the league already had a membership of over 1000. It was decided to have a working executive of twelve members, and also a ladies' committee. The committee was empowered to form a constitution. Mr. Fitzgibbons answered a letter signed by "Prohibitionist" in The Dominion by declaring that the names of those on tho executive of the Leaguo should dispel any suggestion that they were dominated or controlled by Hie liquor element. Nominations for the ladies' committee will be received until noon on Monday.
