SECOND DEPOSIT FOR FOGWELL. (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Palmerston, March 2C. Mr. George, of Tokomaru, yesterday sent to tho stake-holder the second deposit of £10. on behalf of Fogwell, who is to row Whelch at Alcaroa on Easter Holiday, April 17. The race is for ,£2OO a-side, and Mr. Seifert is Porwcll's chief backer. The conditions of the race provide that, in the event of his winning, Pogwcll is to receive the whole of the loser's stake (.£200), and, if Whelch wins, lie is to receive the amount of the loser's stake, less ,£SO, which is to bo paid to Fogwoll for expenses in the event of his being: beaten. Win or lose, Whelch receives the whole of the net proceeds from tho "gate."
