In connection with a shooting affray which occurred at KillasrifT,' ten miles from 'Kells,,: County Mcath, a man was charged at ICilinainham, and ordered to. to sent to Monaghan Asylum. It was alleged that when accused's son-in-law approached the house where the . accused lived alone, the latter fired at him from the doorway, pellets entering the breast and arms. Ho was armed with a gun and revolver, ami prevented the police from entering the house until midnight. They then made a rush and succeeded, in arresting him. Accused, it is stated, was formerly an inmate of a lunatic asylum. The injured man is'expected to recover';
