Tho Industrial Court lined the men who recently, went on strike at the Carcoar mines £5 (with 10s. 6d. costs) each; the penalty for default being a month's imprisonment with hard labour. The Sydney Labour Council is enforcing a resolution net to ailow any reporters at the council's meetings oxcepting members of the Writers' and Artists' Union, which is affiliated to the council. , UNEMPLOYED AT NEWCASTLE. Sydney, March 24. Owing to tho slackness in trade, largo numbers of miners in tho Newcastle district are unemployed. Strong pressure is being brought to bear on tho Government to provide relief work.
