ANOTHER WHARF.
FORESHADOWED FOR WELLINGTON. It is the opinion of the Wellington Harbour Board engineer that if the trade of tho port continues to increaso it will soon bo necessary to consider the construction of another wharf for oceangoing vessels. Unfortunately tho great bulk of the export trade is becoming more concentrated into a shorter period than was formerly tho case, and this necessitates tho construction _of expensive wharves and sheds which' lie. to a moro or less extent idle for a part of the year. The board, says the engineer in his annual report, has not so far boon required to malco provision for the cool storage of dairy produce and perishable goods, but in view of the probable construction of a, new passenger railway station at an early date, it is likely that the land now occupied by the Freezing Company will bo required for railway purposes, in which caso there will be a demand for cool 6torage, to be undertaken by tho board.
