Dixon, X 2 lis. 2d., costs 55.; Masterton Borough Council v. Maria Donaldson, Xl 18s. Bd., costs ss. An, order on a judgment summons was mado as follows:—Win. Pauling (Masterton) v. Wm. Manihera (Te Ore Ore), X 2 ss. Gd., order made for payment forthwith in monthly, instalments-of-10s., in default three days' imprisonment. Owen O'Sullivan claimed from — Fouliey and other 9 the sum of 19s. 9d., being balance alleged to be duo for work done on tho widening of tho Northern Approach. This was a dispute as to the rate.of pay agreed upon. Defendant submitted that a rate of 18s. a day had been fixed, while plaintiff alleged that it was XI. Plaintiff (lie stated) had used two of his horses at tho work, and had proved an unsatisfactory workman. Plaintiff was nonsuited. Owen O'Sullivan also sued Jeremiah Savage for X 3 10s., alleged to bo due for training two horses—one in the saddle, at XI 10s., and the other in harness at X 2. It was proved that the former amount hod been paid, and that tho second horse was not thoroughly broken in. ■ Judgment was given for plaintiff for XI and costs 'X 2. Four divorce cases are set down for hearing at the Supreme Court sittings, which commence on Monday next. • An. offer of XIOO per foot for a -section in Queen Street was refused recently. An important gathering of the mombera of the Foresters' -Court will be held this evening,':when Past District Chief Ranger Bro. Hhapcott will be presented with district honours. All the lodges'in tho Wairarapa. will.be represented,.and delegates will also be present from Wellington and Petone ■ Locally-grown grapes are being sold it the street comers at Gd. per lb. Large quantities of chaff, grain, and baled straw are being trucked away at tho present time. It is anticipated that tho export of produce from this district will constitute a record. Tho annual meeting of the Masterton Football Club was held on Wednesday evening, when Mr. D. N. Logan was reelected patron. It was deouled to enter a senior team for the competitions duiing the coming season. For the past two scasous the club has had no senior team. The benefit concert hold in the Town Hall on Wednesday night to raise funds, for the purpose, of assisting Miss Ihclma. Petersen to prosecute her musical studies abroad was attended with marked suecess. . Miss Petersen received an °J a ( , tlo . u 1 ' and was presented with a number of floial tributes. Mr S Pearson, formerly of Masterton, but now of' Wellington, was a visitor to this town on Wednesday. Mr J. A. Walsh, secretary of the Pahiatua A. and P. Association and tho Pahiatua Central Branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, has been ap-, pointed Pahiatua representative for tho Wellington Farmers' Meat Company.
