HOCKEY.
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of tho Management Committee of the Wellington Hookey Association was _ held last night, Mr. W. J. Organ presiding. , A-letter received from the New Zealand Hockey Association conveyed the' information that tho New South Wales Association would not be able to send a representative team to New Zealand this year. Intimation was received from the Karori Borough Council that the association could have tho use of two Karori grounds at a rental of <£7 10s., provided that a senior match was played every alternate Saturday. It was decided to accept the ofier. .A resolution was carried recommending the association's delegates to move in the direction of getting the number of Challenge Shield matches reduced to four in any one year. Also to have the rule abolished which extends the time of matches when the scores are even at the end of play. ' . THE GREGG CLUB. The annual meeting of tho Gregg Hockey Club was held last night, Mr. R. A. Wright presiding over a good attendance! The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. 1 The report showed that, during the past 6eason, the club hod been handicapped by a shortage of members, and the loss of a couple of the club's best players, but both teams had creditable records. The third-class team acted as runners-up for the championship, and the percentage of goals scored was greater than that or the champion team. Two gold medals were presented for competition by Messrs. W. J. M'Naught, Wellington, and Geo. Barnard, Paimerstou Norths The first medal was won by Mr. G. .Tones, of the junior team, and the second by Mr. R. Lawrence, of the third team. A hockey stick, presented by Mr. .1. Smith, was won by Mr. Ambrose, the most improved player in the third team. The balance-sheet showed a satisfactory credit balance. A number of new members were elected. Votes of thanks were accorded to Mr. "P. 11. B. Fisher, M.P., G. Winder, and C. J.
Crawford for donations, and to Messrs. Jl'Naught, Barnard, and Smith for trophies. • The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. I'. M. B. Fislier, M.P.; president. Mr. K. A. THE NEW CLUB. The first annual meeting of the newlyformed Hereawa Hockey Club was held this week at Mr. Bruce's rooms, Willis Street. This club is being formed for Wednesday competition, and the following officers were elected Patron, Mr. G. Winder; president, Mr. Houidsworth; vicepresidents, Messrs. A. Beggs, A. Kuch, W. A. Pearman, Barton, Is. Clements, J. Gow, and Duncan; club captain, H. M'Doweli; hon. secretary and treasurer, H. Q. Bruce; delegate to union, F. Kuch. There was a large number of members present, and the club anticipate a successful season. Mr. H. J. Hunter acted as chairman.
PETONE LADIES' CLUB. The annual general meeting of the Petone Ladies' Hockoy Club was held last evening, Mr. A. Coles presiding. The club liaj a credit balance of £1 25., and the report congratulated members on the past year's success. Several new members were proposed,

Miller; club captain, Miss Ford; vice-captain, Jliss Guthrie; delegates to Wellington Ladies' Hockey Association, Misses. E. Fleet and Guthriej treasurer, Miss : Scrimshaw; auditor, Jlr. J. W. M'Ewan; committee, Misses Jlay, E. Fleet, Lepper, and-officers ex officio; Selection Committee, the captain, coach, and vice-captain. It was decided to hold the annual "social" ill Jlay.
