$ The Rev. 11. B. Chappell, M.A., gavo an interesting address on Sunday afternoon at the Y.M.C.A. Hall to a wellattended audience of men. The occasion was Bible Study Rally Day, which was observed by the Young .Men's Christian Associations of Australasia. Mr. Cliappelt discoursed at length on various books of the Bible, laying special emphasis on the way Bible study should be dealt wilh by men. 11c said everything written in the Bible had an occasion and in reading it they were looking over somebody's shoulder and into a letter which had been -written by some other person. To get the true meaning of the books they should understand the occasion when and how they were written. To get the best out of their study they must be in sympathy with its purpose, and cultivate tho spirit of thinking seriously. Two items wero rendered by the quartet—Messrs. Bewley, Anderson, Goudie, and Armstrong. ' The opening function to-night nf the Y.M.C.A., as advertised in another column, promises fo lie well attended, and amongst the attractions are a gymnasium display of ladies' and men's classes, opening of the new recreation room.i Wesley Orchestra, and several vocal items.
