MOTOR RELIABILITY TRIALS.
RESULT OF THE TESTS. Tho motor-cyclo ..trials,'' 1 which took place 011 '-March 10 and March 11 under tho auspices of the Now Zealand Motor Cycle Club, are regarded by the club as highly satisfactory. The course was to Wanganui, via Feilding and Marton on the first, day, and the return, via Bulls and Palmerston on the second day. The total distance was 310 miles, anil when the condition of the roads, consequent on the prolonged dry weather, is taken into account it may be admitted that the test was an unusually severe one on both machines and riders. Thirty-seven entries wero received, and 31 competitors started. Of these only one fell out 011 tho way to | Wanganni, and three on tho return journey. The petrol .consumption test was carried out 011 the return journey between Otaki and Wellington, and, iii this section, was included tho hill-climbing competition on Paekakariki Hill. Heavy-weights: Highest aggregate points for reliability and petrol consumption (on formula)—J. ]\. Makin; petrol consumption (on formula), .7. Hall; hill climb (on formula), J. W. Makin. Light-weights: Highest aggregate points for reliability and petrol consumption (on formula)—-A. K. Hopkins; petrol consumption;(on formula), A. K. Hopkins; hill climb (on formula), A. K. Hopkins. Row, of Otaki, for his services in connection with tho filling-and sealing of tanks for the petrol consumption test. Open Hill Climb. In conjunction with the reliability ■ trials, an open hill climb was held oil ; Paekakariki Hill on Saturday, the result which were worked out on formula, being as follow:— Heavy-weights.—G. B.
