» / NEW SOUTH WALES EX-TREASURER By Telegraph—Pre6s Association—Copyrieht Sydney, March 20. Mr. J. F. Burns, an ex-Stato Treasurer, is dead. The Hon. John. Fitzgerald Burns held Cabinet office in New South Wales ill four different Ministries in the period from 1875 to 1889. He was born in the North of Ireland in 1832, and arrived ill New South Wales at an early age. In 1802 he. entered politics as member for the Hunter. He was Postmaster-General in the Robertson Government (1875-77) and in the Farnell Ministry (1877-78), and Colonial Treasurer in the Robertson Ministry (1885-86), and in the Partes Ministry (1887-80).
