A concert will be held under the auspices of the Seamen's Conference, in tho Sailors' Rest to-night. The concerts will be held on alternate Tuesdays, instead of on Mondays, as formerly. For this evening members of the Y.M.C.A. announce "a grand opening night," the occasion being tho opening of a new recreation room. The Wesley Orchestra wilt render musical items, and a special gymnastic display will bo given. Messrs. S. S. Williams and Co., art furniture manufacturers, insert a special announcement in this issue, referring to their profession. Tho eighth annual gathering and sports of the Manawatu and West Coast Caledonian Society will lie held on the Sports Ground, Palmerston North, on April 17, Easter Monday. A meeting of the members of the National League and others interested will l>e held in tho Concert Chamber; Town Hall, to-/iiorrow evening. Ladies are specially invited. Messrs. A. L. Wilson and Co. annaunce in this issue particulars of their weekly salo of household furniture, piano ' anil effects. The salo will he held at their rooms, 2G Brandon Street, to-morrow.
