There was no demand for horses, and these failed to reach owners' reserves. Competition for lurniturc, timber, doss, and sundries was Rood. All cold at- satisfactory prices. There jyas a large attendance of buyers, and bidding showed more animation than at previous Dannevirko sale*, For pood lines competition was keen, and even the poorer classes of sheep were in demand. The bulk oi our entry was disposed of under the hammer, and, at the rlose of the sale, only a few remained unsold. The annua! draft of five-year-old ewea from Messrs. Hartpill and Knight's Otawh.io station reached 12s. Id. On account, of other vendors good 4 and 5-ycar ewes sold from 10s. Id. to 10s. 6d.; medium do., ss. lid. 1o 6s. 6d.: culls, to 1 Ss.; woolly wether?, lambs, ss. 4d. to 7s. 9d.; shorn do.. 3s. lid. to 5s 4d.; culls, from Is. 7d.; 4 and 6-tooth wethers, 12s. 4d.; small mixed 2-tooths, 6s. 3d.; 2-tooth wethers. 11:5. 9d. Tho cattle offered by us were of inferior quality, tho majority bsin* sold at the followincr prices:—Fat cows, £5 10s. to £5 25.; cows in milk, £1 sf. 6d. to £2 IS\>.: cows, with calf. £3; yearling heifers. £2: weancr3. 195.: bull. £2 12s. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their .fortnightly .stock sale at Ongaonga on March 16, when they offered 35C9 sheep to a largo attendance. Bidding all round was good, most of the yarding being sold at fatisfactory prices. Quo-tations:—Two-tooth wotiicrs, 10s. to lis. Id.: iour-tooth wethers, 12s. Gd.; fat wethers, 145.; two-tooth ewes, small, lis. Id.; soundmouth ewes. 8-3., 95., up to 10s. 6d. A good line of 6CO four-year ewes made lis. 6d.; shorn lambs, mixed sex, Ss. Od.; woolly lambs, 9s. Messrs. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale at .LiKotahuna yesterday. Entries did not comc in up to advertised numbers, and prices were a little above these ruling at la-it sale. A line of good Z-tooth ewes realised 13s. 2d. Cattle aid not wll too well, but we sold our whole yarding cxccpt two small pens of store cows. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. (Peildins branch), report for the week ending March 15, as follows:—At Apiti," on Tuesday, a very heavy yardin? of sheep came forward, the yards beins taxed to their utmost capacity. Young sheep, of which there were some very cood pens, sold well, but other sheep (in sympathy wi'h outside markets) were easier. Cattle cams forward in fair numbers, and 'a good sale resulted.
