MUSIC, LITERATURE, ORATORY.
COMPETITIONS PROPOSED. Messrs, J. M. Clarke, George Toogood, and R. A. Keenan, are the convenors of a meeting to bo held in the Mayor's room, Town Hall, on Wednesday next, to discuss matters in connection with tho proposal to initiate in Wellington musical, literary, and oratorical competitions on tho lines of those held in Ballarat, Auckland; Dunedin, and Christchurcli. The convenors have' left no stone unturned to make the backing of the movement as representative as possible.
