ALLEGED DEFALCATIONS.
A TELLER. ARRESTED. Shortly alter midday yesterday,. De-f tectives Kcmti and Hammond arrested a man, nnnicd John Aloysius'Campbell, who will appear at the .Magistrate's Court this morning on the following charges: (1) that on November 3, 1009, at Duue.din, ho received from Geo. Simpson the sum of .£137 2s. Ifld., on behalf of the Bank of Australasia, and converted tho same to his own use; 1.2) that on November' 24, lflfll), he received from I. Peterson and Ca. the Mini of .CU.C 13s. 5d., on behalf of Ihe Bank of Australasia, and converted the same-to his own use; and (31 that on January S, mil, ho received from I. Peterson and Co. the sum of ss. 4d., on behalf of tins Bank of Australasia, and converted the Fame lo his own use. Campbell is a. young married man, ind until quite recently had been employed as a teller in the Bank of Australasia in Dunedin. He was recently transferred to Otaki, and, when arrested, was in 'Wellington on bank business.
