COMING AND GOING.

SOME POPULATION FIGURES. During last January 4411 persons arrived in tho Dominion from various parts. In January, 1910, the number was 413 Q. Tho departures totalled 2806, as against 20G2 for tho corresponding month of last year. Females arriving (adults) numbered 1432, males 2572, and children 407.

The arrivals were from tho following places United Kingdom, 987; Victoria, 615; New South Wales, 2129; Western Australia, 14; Tasmania, 285; Fiji, 132.

The arrivals canie to tho Dominion through the various ports as follow:— Auckland, 1515; Wellington, 2022; Lyttelton, 2; Invercargiil, 872.
