(From Our Ssecial Correspondent.! Tho annual picnic of the Hult District High School was held , yesterday. An enjoyable outing resulted, t]i«j arrangements being under tho supervision of Messrs. Maeaskill and Barlow, and tha headmaster (Mr. leates) and staff.
At a silting of the Petono Polico Court .yesterday morning Messrs. R. Mollies and E," W. Short, Justices of the Peace, 011 tho bench. For being drunk and disorderly one first offender was fined 55., with costs 7s. Tho polico made an application for a prohibition order to be issued against Henry Flux. Considerable evidenco was given as to tho man's habits. Mr. Cracroft Wilson, who appeared for Flux, said he thought tho application should be dismissed, as the evideuco was not sufficient. The Bench did not take this view, however, and the. application was granted. Mr. Wilson stated that it was likely ho would appeal against the decision.
At the Lower Hutt Court yesterday morning, beforo Mr. J. A. Chapman, J.P., Patrick Egan was convicted" and discharged. Tho charge was drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
