FLOODS IN AUSTRALIA.
» DAMAGE IN MELBOURNE. Sy Teleeraph--Press Association— CoDyxlcht Melbcurrsi March 10. Further heavy rain has fallen. Some of tho low-lying suburbs, are Hooded. Many basements in .city and suburbs had to bo pumped out. Extensive damage has been done at tho Flemington and Williamstown racecourses, which are flooded, only the buildings on tho latter standing out of the water. A storm in the Mount Taylor district devastated a largo area of forest country. BRIDGES .WASHED AWAY. Hobart, March 10. Remarkably .heavy rains are falling. The Esk River., is in high flood. Bridges have : been washed away and other severe damage done. Some residents have been driven from, their homes.
